Adless Lite is a browser extension intended to block advertising requests, reduce tracking-related requests, hide selected nuisance elements, and improve page clarity. To do that, the extension needs to interact with the sites you visit and manage its own local settings.
Adless Lite is designed around local browser processing. Its core functionality does not depend on creating a user account or building an advertising profile about you.
Information processed locally on your device
To apply blocking and cleanup features, Adless Lite may process website addresses, network requests, page structure, and selected page elements locally inside your browser. This is necessary for declarative request filtering, cosmetic filtering, pause-on-this-site behavior, and interface actions connected with the current site.
This local processing is used so the extension can function on the websites you open. It is not part of a behavioral advertising system operated by Adless Lite.
Data stored by Adless Lite
Adless Lite stores extension data locally using browser extension storage. Depending on your configuration, this may include whether protection is enabled, selected UI language, interface preferences, paused sites, enabled filter packs, refresh state for filter checks, runtime state, local performance state, and local statistics counters such as blocked request totals.

Adless Lite may request access to websites you visit so that protection can work where browsing occurs. The extension also uses browser capabilities related to rule-based request filtering, storage, scripting, and alarms in order to manage filtering, apply page cleanup, remember your settings, and schedule maintenance checks.
These permissions are used so the extension can deliver its stated functionality, including optional filter groups and local cosmetic cleanup.
Filter list maintenance and update checks
Adless Lite includes bundled filter snapshots and may periodically check source filter-list endpoints associated with enabled groups to determine whether newer list metadata is available. These checks help maintain compatibility and protection quality.
These maintenance checks are intended to compare bundled filter metadata with remote filter sources. They are not intended to upload the content of the pages you browse.
Retention and your control
Locally stored extension data generally remains on your device until you change your configuration, reset or clear extension data through the browser, or uninstall Adless Lite. You can also pause Adless Lite on selected sites and change which optional filter packs are enabled.
